Eden Scott's client is a leading independent medium-sized consultancy helping government, industry and developers to manage risk and protect their reputation by optimising their approach to environmental issues. They are currently active in a number of sectors including the UK Oil & Gas sector where they deliver permits and consents through the successful acceptance of Environmental Impact Assessments, Petroleum Operation Notices, Oil Pollution Emergency Plans and other required submissions.
An opportunity is available for a suitably qualified Environmental Consultant to be based either in the Dundee or Aberdeen area. The role would suit an individual with environmental consultancy experience in the oil and gas sector, potentially someone looking to develop their client facing profile, and additionally gain experience in the rapidly emerging marine renewables and offshore wind industries. We would also be interested in exploring opportunities with more experienced consultants.
The successful candidate must be able to actively contribute to and drive forward the requirements of Petroleum Operations Notices (PONs) whilst working with a major oil and gas client. The post will also require a detailed knowledge of the wider UK oil and gas industry to take on further responsibility as the client relationship develops.
A good working knowledge and understanding of the oil and gas sector as a whole would be necessary.
Key Knowledge, Skills and Experience
* BSc degree in Environmental Sciences.
* MSc or other postgraduate qualification would be highly desirable.
* Specific UK oil and gas legislative experience is essential.
The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential. Initiative and responsibility are considered key attributes, as is the ability to communicate effectively. The post will be based in Aberdeen and Dundee with an initial period of training at Head Office in England.
