Lat 56 Good fun Wedding and fuction band

Hiya,

I am writing on behalf of a wee band I am in called Latitude 56. We are a 5 piece Edinburgh based covers band and we are looking to expand our reach and profile throughout Scotland and are now looking to take bookings for the rest of 2009 and looking beyond into 2010 - How did it ever get to be 2010!? Crazzzy...

I will tell you a wee bit about our band to see if it could be of use to you.

This year..

We have already played 27 gigs this year and these have proved successful. We have several bookings up until the winter time including playing in Jools Holland owned Jamhouse in Edinburgh as well as travelling to Inverness, Isle of Skye and Northern Ireland for a mini tour and performing at The Belfast Giants Ice Hockey annual player’s awards ceremony to name some of our bigger events as well as four weddings lined up in the next two months.

Last year..

We had a hugely successful year in 2008 and played 52 gigs in a range of venues. We have played local established venues such as Whistle Binkies and The Mitre Bar in Edinburgh with regularity over the past year as well as performing on local radio stations. We have also helped to establish successful new music ventures in a number of Edinburgh pubs – Berts Bar and The Sportsmans Bar to name but two – as well as local British Legions and weddings, where we have regularly attracted audiences of 300+ people.

So who are we and what can we do?

We formed almost 3 years ago as a group of musicians who wanted to play music for fun. Over this time we have been fortunate to have many positive opportunities to play in many of the top local music venues. While we take the quality and progression of the band seriously, we're all just in it to have some fun and gain experience and hopefully let people have a really enjoyable wee night. We try and have fun on stage as the vibe from a band often projects itself into the crowd and for us, it is important that we always enjoy our shows and are not afraid to show that. We totally realise we're not in the music business but the entertainment one and are looking to put together some wee songs into our set list that are a bit.. different? unexpected? such as “Never Gonna Go on Bebo Again” allow us to offer something quirky.. We have tambourines and maracas' that we give out to the crowd to let them take part and have a bit of craic too. We are also happy to listen to song suggestions from yourself that you feel would best suit your punters. We supply all our own PA and equipment and can set up with minimum fuss and disruption.
